Slope Stability

The use of advanced numerical analyses for calculations of slope stability in 2D and 3D is the primary focus of this project. MPM and SFEM are numerical methods that improve bounds on the safety factors under seismic and static conditions. A particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of a mesh-refinement scheme for plastic solutions to reveal the slip-line failure mechanisms.
